Snow Monkey in thermal pool, Japan
Composition
The centre of interest or focal point is the predominant part of the object which the viewer rest their eyes to create such an attraction. In this image, the focal point is simply the snow monkey's eyes. Capturing wildlife photography just like this photo, is more likely to have the eyes as the focal point or the face. To create such an effective work, John Shaw had to be close and at a low angle to be able to capture all the detailes and features espicially the eyes.
Lighting
The lighting creates the photo to stand out more as it values different techniques and one of the most common one is using the natural light. In this image, the used lighting is based on the object. It is best to have a natural light for wildlife as it brings out their true features. As seen, the photo brings that cold feelings to the viewers eyes with the theme winter featuring a "snow monkey." John Shaw has let the natural light to let do the work and in the end have created an amzing result.
Colour
The colour techniques in the a photo delivers feelings to the viewers as it also attract attention as well as the focal point. In this photo, the colour used are soft, calming and cold. By this, the soft part brings a calming feeling, the calming part brings the cold feeling and as for the cold part, it brings the whole concept of the image, winter. John Shaw was able to present these feelings throught the colours of the natural environment, the light colours with white and grey.
Texture
The texture of a photo creates the overall mood. In this poto, the softness is featured to create such a natural mood. As well as, claming and cold, this mood has contributed to how natural the image is captured as the monkey itself is so real. Observing the image, John Shaw was able to combine all the composition, lighting, and colours to create the final texture.
Overall, this photo brought a smile to my face as it featured a cute snow monkey in its natural environment. This image is a great success because of all the techniques used and the creative concept that in the end it turned up to be an amazing photography.
