Time Line The development of photographic technology

The word photography comes from two ancient Greek words, photo meaning for light and graph meaning for drawing, "Drawing with Light." A camera use in photography is describe as "a light collecting box" as it process the natural light surround us to a printed image.

1500- The pinhole camera or camera obscara

Camera Onscara was inveted by Alhazen with the latin for "dark chamber. The pinhole camera is a simple camera without lens with a single aperture, a pinhole where light can go through from the outside that creates an image of the outside space o the opposite side of the box.

1839- The Daguerreotype Camera

The Daguerreotype camera was invented by Louis Daguerre. which is one of these inventions now is the worlds expensive cameras. It is a remarkably detailes, one of a kind photographic image on a highly polished silver-plated sheet of copper, senstized with iodine vapors, exposed in a large box camera, developed in mercury fumes, and stabilized with salt water or hypo.

1859- Panomaric camera

The panomaric camera is a camera that capture images on a wider format, so as to include much more that what eyes can see naturally from a point. To capture a panoramic image, one needs a wider aspect ratio so that there is a view which is unbostructed of a vaster area.

1861-Stereoscope viewer

The stereoscope viewer was invented by Sir Charles Wheatstone . It is composed of two pictures mounted next to each other, and a set of lenses to view the pictures through. Each picture is taken from a slightly different viewpoint that corresponds closely to the spacing of the eyes.

1888-Kodak box camera

The kodak box camera was introduced by Kodak. It is mechanically simple, the most common form is a cardboard or plastic box with a lens in one end and film at the other. The lenses are often single element designsmeniscus fixed focus lens, or in better quality box cameras a doublet lens with minimal possible adjustments to the aperture or shutter speeds.

1900- Mass-marketed camera

Mass- marketed camera was invented by Eastman with the Brownie, a simple and very inexpensive box camera that introduced the concept of the snapshot.

Raisecamera

The Raisecamera or travel camera was invented. It is extreme light weight and small dimensions when it is folded made this photo camera the most desirable thing for landscape photographers.

1913- Candid camera

Candid camera was invented by Oskar Barnak. It is a series of the theatrical film shorts, also titled Candid Microphone.

1948- Polaroid camera

Edwin H, Land is the founder of polaroid. It is an instant camera that generates a developed film image. The most popular types to use self-developing film were formerly made by Polaroid Corporation.

1981- Sony Movica,

Sony Movica was branded by Sony and is the world's first digital electronic still camera. This kind of camera recorded images into a mini disk and then put them into a videp reader. Images could be displayed to a television monitor or color printer.

1986- Disposable camera

Fuji introduced the disposable camera. The inventors also call this device “single-use cameras”. It is a simple box camera sold with a roll of film installed, mean to be used once and most use fixed-focus lenses.

1991- Kodak digital camera system (DCS)

Kodak digital camera was released by Kodak being the first professional camera. This camera a great tool of photojournalist and has developed 1.3 megapixel sensor.

2000- J-SH04

J-SH04 was created by Sharp corporation and was released by J-Phone. It was introduced as the world’s first camera phone from Japan.

2005- Canon EOS 5D

Canon EOS 5D wa launched. This camera is the first consumer-priced full-frame digital SLR with a 24x36mm CMOS sensor. From this point, the revolution of camera had become wide and has improve and still improvig until today.

Photography contributed in our society though number of ways. It had became powerful thing through communication and as a mode of expression that touches our life in a whole range of ways. These varies from the television we watch and to the texts that we see. Photography tend to commuicate with us by its evolving techniques and grabs our attention in away we can't resist becausesimply photography is all around us.
